Appendix C: Downloading Data to Facility Net
Page C-6 Lasair II Particle Counter Operations Manual
NOTE:
If you have already configured Facility Net to download one
Lasair II particle counter's data in one mode (say Case A), and you
now need to use another Lasair II particle counter in the other mode
(say Case B), then you will need to clear off selected settings before
Facility Net will give you the right configuration box.
You will notice this when you open the Configuration Page pictured on page
C-4, but you want the page pictured above (or vice versa).
Previous settings are cleared by entering “Cancel,” and then reloading the
Configuration Page.
Miscellaneous
Downloading at Network Stations
Usually, PMS instruments can be downloaded at any Real-Time-Stations (RTS).
The Lasair II particle counter also can be downloaded from a Network Station.
Mobile-Collected Data (Case A): Erase Regularly
Facility Net is unable to interleave data (arrange data in a non-contiguous way to
increase performance) from overlapping chronological periods. Once data have
been entered from a location, the next data must be more recent than the most recent
data points from that location that are already in Facility Net.
When Facility Net receives a data sample that is older than the newest recorded data
from that location, it discards that data sample. This can become an issue when
multiple units remotely sample from the same location name, either:
When multiple units sample from the same location at overlapping times,
When recently collected data is downloaded before older data,
When the same data are loaded multiple times.
The best practices procedure is to do the following:
Carefully develop sampling and downloading schedules, in addition to location
naming conventions.
Erase data in the Lasair II particle counter as soon as you have downloaded it.
