Version The software version currently loaded.
Battery Status When the unit is not plugged in, the Power Plug icon on the status
screen will appear grayed out.
The battery status is updated from the battery charger board every five seconds.
When the battery is discharging, the battery icon is red and a minus (-) sign appears
near the battery icon. When charging, the battery icon is blue and a plus (+) sign
appears near the battery icon.
The % value (77%) indicates the remaining battery charge.
If no battery is installed, the battery icon will be grayed out, and the screen will
show "---".
If communications with the battery charger has failed, the percentage will show
"???".
NOTE:
When a depleted battery, which has been left unused for an
extended period, is installed into the Lasair II particle counter, the
battery status may display “???” for about 5 minutes.
The recycle field shows how many charge/discharge cycles the battery pack has
been through. The example in figure 3-3 indicates 23 cycles.
Laser Current Laser Current has 2 fields:
Last shows the most recent value
Ref. (reference) shows the value when the laser was new.
NOTE:
The two fields are used to indicate how much current the
laser draws as a reflection of wear.
A red “X” over the laser icon on the Main Display Screen means that the laser is
not functioning properly.
Data The Data field shows the number of sample data sets in storage. The Lasair
II particle counter can store 3,000 sets of sample data. The field also graphically
indicates how full the data storage area is. In other words, the blue fill represents
how much storage has been used, while the white area represents available capacity.
When the data storage is filled to capacity, each new data item entered overwrites
the oldest set of data.
Data files can be downloaded and/or erased from the particle counter with the Web
Server function. For more information see Chapter 6.
