Studies
The following sections provide information about the imaging applications listed in
Table 3-1.
Abdominal Studies
Abdominal studies are performed with fundamental imaging or Tissue Harmonic
Imaging (THI) to obtain images that can be used for
• Detecting abdominal organ abnormalities
•Evaluating organ size and texture
• Determining size, contour, and patency of vessels
• Characterizing obstructions
• Determining blood flow patterns and velocities
•Guiding a biopsy needle
