NOTE: All Trail Boss ATV batteries are
Maintenance --Free design and construction. All
Maintenance--Freebatteries arefully chargedand
tested at the factorybefore installation. Expected
shelf life is 6--8 months depending on storage
conditions. As a general rule before placing the
battery into service, check the battery condition
and charge accordingly .
Maintenance --Free batteries are permanently
sealed at the time of manufacture. The use of
lead--calcium and AGM technology instead of
lead--antimony allows the battery acid to be fully
absorbed. For this reason, a Maintenance--Free
battery case is dark and the cell caps are not
removable, since there is no need to check
electrolyte level.
NEVER attempt to add electrolyte or wate r to a
Ma inte na nce--Fre e batt e r y. Doing so will dam age
the case and shorten the life of the battery. Refer
to the Battery Maintenance V ideo (PN 9917987) for
prope r instruc t ion on ser v ic ing Maint e na nc e--Free
batteries .
The battery is located under the left rear fender.
