Servicing of Tracks
EN
4. Loosen the relief valve by turning counter
clockwise using gradual increments until the
grease begins to be expelled. Care must be
taken not to loosen the relief valve too quickly
because the grease inside is under high
pressure.
n DANGER
Grease coming out of the relief valve
under pressure can penetrate the body
causing injury or death; DO NOT watch
the relief valve to see if grease is escaping
but instead watch the track adjustment
cylinder to verify that the track is being
loosened.
5. When the correct track tension has been
measured, turn the relief valve clockwise
to tighten and then clean away all trace of
expelled grease.
6. If the track fails to slacken after the grease tting
has been loosened, do not attempt to remove
the tracks or disassemble the track tension
system, or remove the grease tting. It is
possible that running the tracks with the grease
tting loosened may help to expel the grease.
7. Connect the grease gun to the grease tting
and add grease until the track tension is within
the specied dimension, see ‘Measuring
Track Tension’ and refer to lubricant and uid
specications.
Re-check Tension
8. Operate the plant in track mode and drive the
plant 50 metres (50 yards) forwards and 50
metres (50 yards) backwards, check track
tension and repeat the above steps if it is within
the specied dimension, see ‘Measuring Track
Tension’.
9. If room for manoeuvring the plant is restricted,
drive the plant forwards and backwards several
times over a shorter distance.
DO NOT SET TRACK TENSION TOO
TIGHT.
