Selection of the evaluation specification, either according to ISO/IEC 15416 or according to ANSI
X3.182 (this also includes verification according to ANSI/UCC5). The most important difference
between both verification specifications is the different grade classifications into
Classes of 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 (ISO/IEC) and
Grades A, B, C, D or F (ANSI).
The selected class specifies the required minimum quality class that should be reached in the
subsequent bar code verifications by all activated parameters. In the case of verifications of GS1
symbologies, at least Class 2 (1.5 = satisfactory) is required in most cases (see also GS1 General
Specifications, Chapter 5.5f). Some retail businesses and logistics companies rely on reaching the
next best class 3 (2.5 = good).

Number of Measurements for an Evaluation:
With this selection it can be determined whether single measurements or multiple
measurements should be carried out.
The operating mode of the red <Scan> button on the
REA ScanCheck 3 is determined with this selection.
With the selection of single measurement, each measurement is carried out and evaluated
individually.
In the case of multiple measurement, it is adjusted so that a preselected number of single
measurements (3, in this case) must be carried out on a code and then a total evaluation from the
average of the single measurements is made, with a total scan reflection profile result.
In the number field, values between 2 and 10 can be entered.
If the unit is remote controlled by the REA TransWin32 software, this conversion is not required
because there is a scan button for single measurement and another for multiple measurements there.
By activating the box, it can be specified that single measurements in which no decoding was possible
should be excluded from the averaging or not.
Metric deviations can alternatively be depicted as relative values in % or as absolute values in
micrometers.
In addition, it can be preset here how far the measured values should be rounded up or down. 1, 2 or 5
are available for selection in µm or in % of the respectively permissible tolerance.
In the factory setting, relative values in % of the respectively permissible tolerance and with a rounding
of 5% are preset.
A multiple measurement can be cancelled at any time by pressing the number button <3> on the REA
ScanCheck 3n (see Chapter 4.4.2).

The description "Traditional evaluation" according to the symbology specifications
was replaced by the specification
Optional parameters.
Each of these parameters can be selected or deselected individually and in two
different ways.
