4.6.3.3.13 Pharma and Mini Pharma Code - Additional Verification Criteria
Pharma Code is a purely binary code that uses no start or stop characters. It is also
described as binary code, Laetus Code, Sick Code or Weber Code.
REA bar code verification units use the specifications of the Laetus company for verifying Pharma
Codes.
The specifications of other manufacturers are slightly different (e.g. the Sick Code).
The decode value of this code type is different depending on whether the code is read from left to right
or from right to left. Left to right is specified as the standard reading direction. This also corresponds to
the factory preset in the REA ScanCheck 3.
If the read direction should be reversed, the "Use non-standard read direction" must be activated. This
can be useful in cases where the subject cannot be turned around for a reading.
Pharma Code knows only two sizes. Standard has a module width of 0.5 mm and Mini Pharma Code
0.35 mm. The "always automatic" setting attempts to determine the correct size automatically.
4.6.3.3.14 Setup Menu 3 Settings - 2 Aperture
The aperture setting is very important for correct measurement (see also Chapter 4.3).
4.6.3.3.15 Setup Menu 3 Settings - 3 Evaluation
This setup menu allows general settings options such as the type
of evaluation or the selected grade that applies for all subsequent
measurements until another setting change.
If there are corresponding quality agreements or requirements for
required code quality for correct adjustment, the corresponding
settings can be made here.
Only thereby is it ensured that the evaluations can be carried out
correctly with the REA verification unit.
The individual settings can be selected by activating the desired
field with the arrow buttons. This is depicted by the colored
highlight.
The selection box is activated by pressing the <OK Enter> button.
The previously empty box is then filled with a black dot.
If the changed settings should be rejected, activate the Back
button or <ESC>. The settings are accepted with <OK Enter>.
After activation of the desired parameters, the settings can be accepted and the next
screen page shown by moving the cursor to the Continue field and pressing the <OK
Enter> button.
