This RTB has been issued to provide a clear explanation of the units used to express the
PM counter values described in the PM parts list of the SMC.
Units used in PM Parts List
The unit used for expressing the current and target values of the following parts is
distance (m), while the other values are expressed in pages.
z Photoconductor Unit, Drum Cleaning Unit, and their components:
¾ “Current” value is displayed in distance (m).
¾ “Target” value is displayed in distance (m).
¾ “Latest 1,” “Latest 2,” and “Latest 3” are displayed in pages.
z Other parts:
¾ All values are displayed in pages.
When a photoconductor unit or a drum cleaning unit or one of their components is
replaced and the PM counter is reset, the “Current" value of the replaced part is
transferred to the "Latest1" column where the value is converted from “distance” to “pages”.
