8 Maintenance, Hardware Interfaces
This chapter contains maintenance instructions and provides a detailed description of the hardware
interfaces and connectors of the instrument. For a graphical overview of the front panel and rear panel
connectors and their use refer to chapter Preparing for Use:
Maintenance
The network analyzer does not require any special maintenance. Make sure that the air vents are not
obstructed. The outside of the instrument is suitably cleaned using a soft, line-free dust cloth.
Caution!
Never use solvents such as thinners, acetone and similar things, as they may
damage the front panel labeling or plastic parts.
Please follow the instructions in the service manual when exchanging modules or ordering spares. The
order no. for spare parts can be found in the service manual. The service manual includes further
information particularly on troubleshooting, repair, exchange of modules (including AC Fuse Board
exchange, adjustment of the OCXO oscillator) and calibration.
The address of our support center and a list of useful contact addresses can be found on the Contact
page.
Storing and Packing
The network analyzer can be stored at the temperature range quoted in the data sheet. When it is
stored for a longer period of time the instrument should be protected against dust.
The original packing should be used, particularly the protective caps at the front and rear, when the
instrument is to be transported or dispatched. If the original packing is no longer available, use a sturdy
cardboard box of suitable size and carefully wrap the instrument to protect it against mechanical
damage.
