TH8 Installation and Conguration Guide
Adding TH4C Camera Feeds
A TH4C recorder connected to the TH8 adds support for up to 4 AHD cameras at 720p resolution.
The following TH8 cameras are not compatible with the TH4C:
HD3, CHW8, C3Q9PD, C3W9PD
NOTE: TH4C Camera Compatibility
To enable TH4C camera feeds:
1. Connect the TH4C
• The TH4C POE-LAN port connects to an HD CAM EXPANSION port with a CAT5e cable (see "DVR Back
Panel Features" on page 21).
2. Congure the TH4C
• Set the NetworkSettings Setting Type to DHCP (for more information, see the
).
• If Record-Off Delay Time or Power-Off Delay Time are used, congure these settings on the TH4C to
match the TH8. For more information, see "Recording Settings" on page 52.
TIP: Set FPS, Quality, and Resolution on the TH4C
TH4C camera feeds are sent to the TH8 as RTSP stream pairs, so the video sources are not
congurable on the TH8. If you need to change FPS, Quality, or Resolution settings, they must be
congured on the TH4C.
3. Congure the TH8 for the TH4C
• Select TH4C in the Record HD Cam Expansion 1 or HD Cam Expansion 2 menu, depending on the
expansion port used (see "IP Cameras and RTSP Video Sources" on page 52).
• Enter a name and logical channel (display location) for each TH4C RTSP stream (for more
information, see "To congure streams from a companion DVR (e.g.TH series):" on page 45).
Adding an IP Camera
1. Connect the camera
• Use an HD CAM EXPANSION port (see "DVR Back Panel Features" on page 21).
2. Congure the Expansion port
• Select IP in the Record HD Cam Expansion 1 or HD Cam Expansion 2 menu, depending on the
expansion port used (see "IP Cameras and RTSP Video Sources" on page 52).
3. Congure the camera
• Make selections in Record Camera IPC 1 or IPC2 tab, depending on the expansion port used (see
"To congure a supported IP camera:" on page 43).
