CHAPTER 8—LOGGING
Introduction
This chapter briefly describes the following logs of the meter:
Alarm log
Maintenance log
Billing log
User-defined data logs
See the table below for a summary of logs supported by each meter.
Logs are files stored in the nonvolatile memory of the meter and are
referred to as “onboard logs.” The amount of memory available
depends on the model (see Table 82). Data and billing log files are
preconfigured at the factory. You can accept the preconfigured logs
or change them to meet your specific needs. Use WinPM.Net to set
up and view all the logs. See the WinPM.Net online Help for
information about working with the meter’s onboard logs.
Waveform captures are stored in the meter’s memory, but they are
not considered logs (see Chapter 9Waveform Capture on
page103). Refer to “Memory Allocation for Log Files” for information
about memory allocation in the meter.
