Section 5 – Procedures Boom
13. Pull the cylinder out until the mounting bolts
for the cylinder support on the rod end are
accessible inside the main boom support
structure. The support has to be removed to
allow the rod end to pass between the cross
tubes.

14. Remove the 4 bolts securing the support to the
cylinder. Turn the support 90° to remove it from
the end of the cylinder.

15. Once the cylinder support is removed, the wear
pads can be replaced. Apply Loctite 242 or 243
to the wear pad fasteners on assembly.

IMPORTANT
Install new wear pads in the correct orientation.
The top and bottom wear pads have a chamfer that
faces the platform end of the machine. The side
wear pads are mounted on the lower part of the
support.
NOTE
If only replacing the extension cylinder wear
pads, continue to 5.4-13 Extension Cylinder
Removal.
16. Continue pulling the cylinder all the way out.
Guide it through the cross tubes and past the
hose bundle.
17. Set it down on suitable supports or blocking to
perform cylinder service as required.
