To use the Auto Tape Speed function
When you are recording a program in _e Auto
mode and the remaining tape becomes shorter than
the recording time, the tape speed is automatically
changed to EP mode. Note that some noise will
appear on the picture when the tape speed is
changed. If you want to keep the tape speed, select
"SP." To operate this function, set "VCR
Function .... Tape Length" of "Features" in the
"Setnp" display correctly (page 104).
"_° Hints
• When the start time and tile channel o! input source to
be recorded are the same but the "RecTo" setting
differs, the program is recorded to both the DVD disc
and the VHS tape.
• You can also display the Tima programming menu as
follows:
I Press SYSTEM MENU.
The Systeln Menu appears.
2 Select "Timer," and press ENTER.
3 Select "Timer Standard," and press ENTER.

• To record a cable or satellite program, iau_lon the cable
box or satellite receiver and select the program you
want to record. Leave the cable box or satellite receiver
tinned on until the recorder finishes recording
• Even if the timer is set, timer recordings cannot be
made while recording a progmln that has priority
• You cannot record on a tape with its safety tab
relno_._ed.
• Before the timer recording starts, "TIMER REC"
flashes in the fiont panel display
RecordingTV programsusingthe
VCR Plus+system
The VCR Plns+ system is a f_ature that simplifies
setting the timer. Jnst enter the PlusCode number
listed in the TV program guide. The date. time,
and channel of that program are set automatically.
Before you start check that the TV and guide
channels are correctly set in "Guide Channe!
Setup" of"Tnner Preset" in the "Setup" display
(page 98).
