Hemodynamic Calculations
Hemodynamic calculations provide data that describe cardiovascular system
performance. Records are automatically created whenever cardiac output
measurements are performed.
When you create a new entry in the Hemodynamic Calculations table, any current
values for HR, MAP, CVP, MPA, and PCWP automatically show in the table. The most
recent CO value (if less than 15 minutes old) is also put into the table. If the system
finds a CO value, any values for MAP, CVP, MPA, or PCWP that are not currently
available are put into the table from the CO record.
Hemodynamic calculations require specific pressure values, including CVP, MAP,
and PCWP. CVP, MAP, and PA (mean) are monitored continuously; PCWP is an
episodic value. A data substitution may occur if any of these pressure values are not
available when you make a new entry. An advisory message tells you that a
substitution was made.
