12 Communication
Two options are available for establishing a communication connection with the SI6 drive
controller:
§ Direct connection between the drive controller and a PC
§ Communication between a controller and a PC by fieldbus
The DriveControlSuite project configuration and commissioning software installed on the PC is
able to handle multiple direct connections simultaneously.
12.1 System requirements
Note the following requirements for the direct connection.
12.1.1 Personal firewall
For communication, both DriveControlSuite and the SATMICL communication service must be
enabled in the PC's firewall.
Test communication is initiated during the installation of DriveControlSuite that opens a dialog
for enabling communication in case of an activated firewall. Note that operation in public
networks must also be enabled for the communication using a mobile network adapter.
