Post-Fire Ventilation:Followingresuppression,itisessentialtoventilateandcleartheprotectedarea.
If the protected area does not have windows, mechanical exhaust devices should be installed to facilitate
ecientairexchangeandremovalofsmokeandpollutants.Mechanicalexhaustsystemsaidinrestoring
air quality and creating a safe environment for occupants.
Exhaust Outlet Placement: The exhaust outlet should be positioned in the lower part of the protection
zonetoallowforeectiveextractionofsmokeandgases.Thisplacementtakesadvantageofthenatural
tendencyofsmoketorise,ensuringthatitisecientlyremovedfromtheprotectedarea.Moreover,the
exhaust outlet should lead directly outdoors to prevent recirculation of smoke or hazardous substances
back into the building.
Ventilation Changes: To achieve adequate air quality and eliminate residual smoke and gases, the

numberofventilationchangesperhourshouldnotbelessthanve.Thisfrequencyensuresarapid
exchange of air, promoting the removal of contaminants and facilitating the restoration of a safe and
habitable environment.
Placement of Pressure Relief Port: The pressure relief port should be positioned at a minimum height
of two-thirds (2/3) of the clear indoor height in the protection zone. This strategic placement ensures
thatthereleasedpressureiseectivelyventedwhilemaintainingthestructuralintegrityoftheenclosure.
Automatic Closure Mechanism: After the pressure relief event, the pressure relief port should be de-
signed to automatically close. This closure mechanism prevents the ingress of external factors, such as
smokeorre,intotheprotectedarea,andmaintainstheintegrityoftherecontainmentmeasures.
14. Gas Alarm Fire Control System
Composition of the Gas Alarm Fire Control System:
Fire Alarm Host Machine:Locatedinthereprotectionwatchroom,itservesasthecentralcontrol
unit for the system.
Gas Fire Control Panel and Manual/Automatic Switch: Installed at the main entrance and exit of each
protection zone, allowing manual or automatic control of the system.
Intelligent Smoke Detectors and Temperature Detectors: Positioned in the room layer, ceiling layer,
andundertheoorwithinthegasprotectionzonetodetectreandchangesintemperature.
Fire Alarm Bells and Audible/Visual Alarms: Located in the gas protection zone to alert occupants in
theeventofare.
Emergency Start and Stop Buttons: Placed next to the doors outside the protection zone, enabling
immediateactivationordeactivationoftherecontrolsystem.
Deated Indicator Light and Audible/Visual Alarm: Positioned above the door to indicate the activa-
tionoftherecontrolsystem.
