STARTER CLUTCH
INSPECTION
• Install the starter driven gear 1 onto the starter clutch 2.
• Turn the starter driven gear by hand.
• Inspect the starter clutch for a smooth movement.
• Check that the gear turns only in one direction.
• If a large resistance is felt for rotation, inspect the starter
clutch bearing or the starter clutch contacting surface on the
starter driven gear for wear and damage.
• If they are found to be damaged, replace them with the new
ones.

REASSEMBLY
• When installing the generator stator set bolts, tighten them to
the specified torque.
Generator stator set bolt: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf-m, 7.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:
Be sure to install the grommet 1 to the generator cover.
