Suzuki GSX-R1000K5 - Reassembly; Installation

REASSEMBLY
Reassemble the steering stem in the reverse order of disassem-
bly. Pay attention to the following points:
OUTER RACE
• Press in the upper and lower bearing outer races with the
special tools.
 09941-34513: Steering outer race installer set
09913-70210: Bearing installer set (55)
INNER RACE
• Press in the lower bearing inner race with the special tool.
 09925-18011: Steering bearing installer
INSTALLATION
Install the steering stem in the reverse order of removal. Pay
attention to the following points:
BEARING
• Apply SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A” to the bearings and
bearing races.
 99000-25030: SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A” (USA)
99000-25010: SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A” (Others)
• Install the lower bearing to the steering stem lower bracket.
• Install the upper bearing and bearing inner race.
STEM NUT
• Install the dust seal and dust seal cover.
• Tighten the steering stem nut to the specified torque with the
special tools.
 09940-14911: Steering stem nut wrench
09940-14960: Steering stem nut wrench socket
 Steering stem nut: 45 N·m (4.5 kgf-m, 32.5 lb-ft)
