2. Remove the bolt and sealing washer ( Figure
100 ) securing the exhaust rocker arm shaft in the
cy linder head cover.
3. Unscrew the end plug ( Figure 101 ) and sealing
wa sher from the end of the intake rocker arm shaft.
4. Screw a 6 mm boll ( Figure 102 ) into the end
of the inlake rocker arm shaft.
5. Pull the inlake rocker arm shaft o ut and remove
the rocker afm and wave washer.
6. Using a pair of pliers. pull the exhaust roc ker
arm shaft o ul and rem ove the rocker arm and wave
washer.
NOTE
Note that the rocker arms are a
different leng
th and design . The
exhaust rocker arm (A, Figure 10 3) is
longer
and has an O-ring se al on th e
left-hand end.
Th e intake rocker arm
(8, Figure
1 03 ) is shorter.
CHAPTER FOUR
7. Wa sh all parts in solvent and thoroughly dry
with compressed air.
Inspection
I. In spe ct the rocker arm pad wh ere it rides on
the cam lobe ( Figure 104 ) and where the adjusters
