Make
sure the hotes
in
the remaining
jets
(Figure
45) arc clear. Clean out if the)' are plugged
in
any way. Replace th

the
hoie(s).

Make
sure a

carburetor
body
are clear. Refer to
Figure
46,
Figure
47 and
Figure
48.
Clean
out
if
they arc plugged
in
any way.
12.
Shake the
fl
oat assembly
(F
igure
49) and listen
for any
fu
el sloshing around within
either
of
the
floats.
If
any fuel is present, replace the float
assembly.
13.
Inspect the
starter
(choke) plunger assembly
(
Figure
50) for wear
or
damage. Replace
as
a unit
if
necessary: replacement parts arc not
ava
il
able
even though the assembly can
be
disassembled.

disassembled for this adjustment.
I. Remove the
carb
ur
etor
as
described
in
this
chapter.
2. Remove the screws (
Figure
51)
securing the
noat
bowl and remove it.
3.
Hold the
carburetor
upside down
so
that the
noat
arm
is
ju
st touching
the
noal
needle-not
pushing
it
down.
4. Use a vernier calip
er
or
sma
ll
ruler and
measure the distance
"A" from the carburetor body
to the bottom surface
ofthe
noat body (
Figure
52).
The
co
rr
ect height is
li
sted in
Table
I.
5.
Adjust
by
carefu
ll
y bending the tang (
Figure
53)
on
the
noat
arm.
If
the
noat
level is too high. the
result will be a
ri
ch fuel/
air
mixture. If
it
is too
low, the mixture will be too lean .

Reassemble and install the
carb
uretor.
