3. Usc an ohmmeter and check for co ntinuity
(F i gure 95). Connect the tCSt lcads to the sidestand
check switch side of the electrical connectors as
fo llows:
a. Place the sidestand in the down position: there
should
be continuity (low re sistance) between
the green/white and the black/white wires.
b. H ave an assista nt hold the bike in the upright
position,
rai se the sidesta nd and check for
co ntinuity: there should be no continuity
(infinite resistance) between the grecn/white
and black/white wires.

4. If the sidestand check switch fail s either one
of these teS ts. the swi tch mu st be replaced as
desc
ri bed in th is chapter.
5. Re co nn ect the 2-pin e le ctrical con ne ctor.
6. RemO\le the switch as described in t hi s chapter.
7. Reconnect the individual elect ri cal connector.
8. Make s ure the e le ctrical con n ector is fr ee of
co rrosion and is tight. Insta ll the lie wrap to hold
th e electr i ca l wires to the frame.
9. Install the scat as desc ri bed in Chapter Twelve.

Removal/Installation
I. Remove the scat as described in Chapler
Twclve.
2. Disconnect the s
id esland check sw it ch 2-pin
e
le ctr i ca l conneC lor containing 2 wires (I
green/white wire and I black/while wire).
3. Unhook th e tie-wraps securing the electrical
wi re harness to the frame.
4.
Have an assistant hold the bikc in the upright
position .
5. Di sconnect thc spring from the switch.
6. Remove the screws and lockwashers securing
the sidestand check sw
it ch to the frame and remove
the switch.
7. Install a new sidestand check switch and tightcn
the screws securely.
8. Roule the e le ct rical wire harness through the
frame and
install the tie wraps securing the harness
to the frame.
9.
Re connect the 2-pin electrical connector.
1 0. Make sure the electri ca l connector is free of
co rrosion and is tight. InSla ll lhe tie wrap to hold
the eleclrical wires to the frame.
II . In stall th e scat as described in Chapter Twelve.
