6. Inspect the O-ring seal ( 8. f ig ur e 56) on the
release arm
fo r wear or deterioration. Replace if
n ecessa r y.
7. Inslall by rev ersing these removal steps. Note
the foll owing during installation.
8. Engage the s pr ing with the rel ease cam and the
groove in the righi-ha nd crank case cover as sh ow n
in Fig ur e 57.

In ti me. the clutch ca ble will stretch to the poim
where
it is no longer useful and will have 10 be
replaced.
1. Remove the scat as described in Chapl er
Twelve.
2. Remove the fuel lank as desc
ri bed in Chapler
Seven.
3. AI the clutch leve r. perform th e following:
a. Slide back th e rubber boot (Fig ur e 58).

Loosen th e locknut (A. Figu re 59 ) and tum
the adjuster (8. Fig ur e 59) in a ll the way 10-
wa rd the hand grip.
4. AI the right-hand crankcase cover. loosen the
locknuts (A. Fig ur e 60) and turn the adjuster (B,
Figure 60) unt il there is muimum slaek in the
cable.
