Use an ohmmeter a
nd
check for continuity
between the 2 terminals on the solenoid side
of
the
connector. There should
be
continuity
(0.1-1.0
ohms). Disconnect the ohmmeter.

wires. connect a 12-volt banery
to the solenoid electrical connector as follows;
positive
(+)
10 the black/red and negative
(-)
to the black/white terminal (
Figure

).
d. With the bancry connected.
the
solenoid
should operate.

If the solenoid docs not operate. replace the
solenoid as described
in
this chapter.

Either replace the solenoid as described

chapter or reconnect the electrical connector
to
the
solenoid. Make sure the electrical connector
is
free
of
corrosion and
is
tight.

Make sure the rubber cushions (

place on the cylinder head left-hand cover
and install the cover.

Disconnect the solenoid cable from the
decompression lever (

Remove the bolts (B,

) securing the
solenoid and cable to the frame. Remove the
solenoid and cable from the frame.
7.
Remove the E-clip from the pivot pin a
nd
disconnect the cable from the solenoid.
8.
Install
by
reversing these removal step
