the seal out with a pair

NOTE
If
bearing repfacemem is required,
purchase the
new
bear;ng(s)
and
place
them in a freezer
for
approximately 2
hours before instaflOlion. Chilling the
bearings will slighlly reduce their
overall
diameter
while the hot
crankcase
is
slightly larger due
to
heal
expansion. This will make bearing
installalion much easier.
3.
On
bearings so equipped. remove the

(Figure 282) securing
the

4. The bearings are installed with a slight

heated
in
an oven to a temperatu re of about
100
° C (212°

way
to check the proper temperature
is
to drop tiny drops
of
water on the case: if they
sizzle and evaporate immediately, the
temperalUre
is
correct.
