5. If the fork assembly is going 10 be
disassembled, slightly
loosen the Allen boh al the
base
of the slider with an Allen wrench. If the bolt
is loosened too mu ch. fork oil may SIarll0 drain
out of the slider.
6. Remove the fork cap bolt ( figure 54) and the
spacer.
7. Remove the screw (A . • "ig ur e 55) securing the
front turn signal mounting bracket on the front fork
tubc.
8. Loosen the lower fork bridge bolt (8. Figure
55).

9. Slide the fo rk tube from the upper and l ower
fork bridges (E. Figure 53), II may be necessary
10 s li ghtly rotate the fork lUbe while pulling it down
and out.
[0. In stall by reversing the se removal steps. Note
the
fo llowi ng during installation.
I\, Align the front turn signal mounting bracket
locating tab with the noteh
in the lower fork bridge.
12. In sta ll the fork tube into the top of the fork tube
until
it bottoms out on the stop.
1 3. Tighten the lower fork bridge bolt and the fork
cap
bolt to the torque specifications listed in Table
I.

Clamp the slider in a vise with soft jaws.
2. If n ot loosened during the fork removal
sequen
ce, loosen the Allen bolt on the bollom of
the slider as follows:
a. Reinstall the fork
spacer into the fork tube.
b. install the fork top cap and tighten securely.
c. Loosen the
Allen· bolt (f igur e 57 ) on the
boltom
of the slider.
