Adjust
the
shocks to their softest sCllings. com-

Remove the cap nuts and washers (Fig

the
upper and lower mounts on the frame and
swing
amI.
4.
Pull the shock absorber straight
off
the upper
and lower mounts and
remove the unit.
5. Don't lose the inner washer on the upper mount.

must
be
reinstalled
in
the same place.

Instnll
by
reversing these remo

l steps.

Tighten the upper and lower mounting nuts to

torque specificati

Inspec
ti
on
The shock absorber cannot bedisassembled. As
it
ca
nn
ot
be
serviced, there arc no replacement parts
available.
If the bike has a lot
of
miles on
it
and one
of
the
shock absorbers
is
faulty. replace both units to
maintain
maximum handling perfonnance.

rubber bushings

the upper and
lower moumingjoints (Figure

) for wear or dmn-
agc. if
WOnt
or damaged. replace the shock ab-
sorber unit.

Check the damper unit

r leakage and make
sure
the
damper rod
is
straight (Fi

).
3.
In
spect the fllbber stopper. Ifit
is
worn. damaged
or starting to deteriorate. replace
th
e shock absorber
unit.
