Remove
the union bolt

to the caliper assembly. Don't lose
the sealing washer on each side
of
the hose fitting.
Apply the brake lever as many limes
as
necessary
to pump the brake fluid out
of
the brake hose.

up to the lower

rk bridge. Place the hose end in a rcscalable
plastic bag and zip the bag closed around the h
ose
to prevent the
entry
of
moist
ur
e and foreign maUer.
6.
Loosen the bolts (8. Figure 33) securing the
brake caliper assembly to the front fork. Push in
on the caliper while loosening the bolts to push the
piston back into the caliper bores.
7.
Remove the bolls securing the brake caliper
assembly to the front fork.
8.
Remove the caliper assembly from the brake
disc.
9.
Install
by
reversing these removal steps. Note
the
rollowing during installation.

the caliper assembly onto the
disc being carerul not to damage the

ading edge
or
the brake pads.

ll
the bolts securing the brake caliper
assembly to the rront
ro
rk and tighten to the torque
specifica

ons listed
in
Table
1.

Install the brake hose onto the caliper.

Place a sealing washer on each side

the
brake hose fitting and

stall the union bolt.

Tighten
the union bolt to the
torque
specification listed in
Tab
le
I.

Remove the master cylind
er
t
op
cover and
diaphragm.
WARNING
Use
brake fluid clearly marked DOT 3
or DOT 4 from

sealed container.

Spin the rront wheel several times and activate
the rront brake lever as many times as it takes

the cylinder in the caliper and correctly locale
the pads. .
