12 Disposal
12.1 Disposal of device
Electrical and electronic equipment must be disposed of separately from
normal waste.
Please contact your local Sysmex representative, since this device must be
specially treated before disposal.
12.2 Disposal of components
Generally, all components and fluids must be disposed of in accordance with your local
regulations and acceptable laboratory procedures.
12.3 Waste disposal
Only empty the Waste bottle while the device is not running.
When dealing with potentially hazardous samples, fill Hypochlorite Solution into the Waste
bottle, before emptying it. Use an amount of Hypochlorite Solution of about 10% of the
Waste bottle content (Example: 800 ml content = 80 ml Hypochlorite Solution). Incubate
the mix of waste and Hypochlorite Solution for about 15 minutes.
When screwing or unscrewing a bottle and its respective cap, it is
advantageous to twist the bottle instead of the cap.
The tubing must stay unbent.
9. Unscrew the Waste bottle. Beware of possible vacuum.
10. Decontaminate the bottle with Hypochlorite Solution (10% of waste volume).
11. Let bottle contents incubate for 15 minutes.
12. Dispose of waste according to your local legislation.
13. Screw down the cap by turning the bottle. Do not twist the tubing and the sensor
cable. Close the bottle tightly.
14. Wipe bottle exterior and working surface with clean cloth dipped with disinfective
agent.
15. Dry exterior and working surface with clean cloth.
16. Dispose of cloths.
