2.2 MONITORING HEART RATE
We recommend keeping the transmitter out
of hot rooms and direct sunlight and far from
heat sources.
Pulse count is faulty when there are sources
of electromagnetic radiation present (TV,
cellular phones, etc.).
If you want to wash the chest band, use a
water-and-soap solution and then let it dry
for a few hours in a warm, dry place, far from
direct sources of heat (see section
Routine
maintenance
).
Take care not to stretch or bend the rubber:
bad maintenance can cause the electrodes
to lose their conductivity.
Only one transmitter should be within the
receiver’s reception range, otherwise the
receiver could get several signals at the
same time and make errors in visualizing
heart rate. If there are several equipments
with heart rate receivers in the same area,
the recommended minimum distance
between them is 80 cm.
These problems do not arise if the equipment
is equipped with the Personal Code Device,
a system that allows the equipment to
harmonize solely with the heart rate of the
user (see section
Optional accessory
).
