2.2 Monitoring heart rate
The condition of your heart and
cardiovascular system are fundamental to
physical fitness. The more often you can
check your heart rate the more effective your
workout will be.
Monitoring heartbeat is important for both
athletes and amateurs because it enables
them to program workouts better. Top 600
XT PRO let every user monitor heart rate
precisely with the chest band containing the
heart rate transmitter, which you wear
wrapped around your thorax.
The heart rate transmitter incorporated in the
chest band sends the equipment heart rate
signals; these signals are processed and
shown on the display so the user can
continuously monitor his or her heart rate.
This constant monitoring of the heart rate
makes the chest band useful tool for
improving workout effectiveness and safety,
and we thus highly recommend their use.
DANGER
During a workout, your heart rate
must never be more than 85% of its
maximum (unless you’re a trained
competitive athlete).
To calculate the percentage, use the
table in paragraph 2.5.2.
