4:
Be
sure
you
have
the
appropriate
operating
environment.
Specifications
for
temperature,
relative
humidity,
altitude,
vibrations
and
emissions
are
included
in
the
Specifications
chapter.
• Step 5: Leave
space
around
the
instrument
for cooling.
Maintain
adequate
airflow to
prevent
instrument
damage
from
internally
generated
heat. Before
turning
on
the
power, verify
that
the
spaces
around
the
air-intake
holes
on
the
bottom, sides,
top,
and
rear
cabinet
are free
of
any
obstruction
to airflow.
• Step 6:
Turn
on
your
oscilloscope
by
pressing
in
the
POWER
button.
Observe
that
the
POWER-ON
indicator,
located
above
the
button,
comes on. After a few
seconds
a
trace
appears
on
the
CRT screen,
and
the
instrument
is
ready
to
make
measurements.
