7: PMU for pulsed I-V measurements on a MOSFET Model 4200A-SCS Pulse Card (PGU and PMU)
7-2 4200A-PMU-900-01 Rev. B March 2023
Equipment required
One 4200A-SCS with the following instruments and accessories:
• One 4225-PMU
• Two 4225-RPMs
• Two 4200-PRB-C SMA to SSMC Y adapter cables (supplied with the 4225-PMU)
• Two CA-547-2A RPM interconnect cables (supplied with the 4225-RPM)
• Two 7078-TRX-GND plug triaxial to socket BNC adapters, guard removed
• Two CS-1247 plug BNC to socket SMA adapters (supplied with the 4225-RPM)
• Two CA-452A SMA to SMA cables (supplied with the 4225-RPM)
• Two 7078-TRX-GND plug triaxial to socket BNC adapters, guard removed
Device connections
Using the supplied cables, make connections from the output terminals of the two 4225-RPMs to the
MOSFET.
Hazardous voltages may be present on all output and guard terminals. To prevent electrical
shock that could cause injury or death, never make or break connections from the instrument
while the instrument is powered on. Turn off the equipment from the front panel or
disconnect the main power cord from the rear of the 4200A-SCS before handling cables.
Putting the equipment into an output-off state does not guarantee that the outputs are
powered off if a hardware or software fault occurs.
To prevent electric shock, test connections must be configured such that the user cannot
come in contact with test leads, conductors, or any device under test (DUT) that is in contact
with the conductors. It is good practice to disconnect DUTs from the instrument before
powering up the instrument. Safe installation requires proper shields, barriers, and grounding
to prevent contact with test lead and conductors.
