2.1.4 Oscar external power supply
Oscar uses two power supply modes. One is powered by a special
7.4V/6400mAh lithium battery, and the other is powered by an external 12V
DC power supply. Both can power Oscar alone or simultaneously. When
connected at the same time, Oscar will automatically select the external 12V
DC power supply for power supply, and the battery is in the standby state.
Once the external power supply is disconnected, the battery will continue to
provide power for Oscar to ensure that Oscar will not shut down or restart due
to the disconnect of external DC power supply; When connected at the same
time, if the external DC power supply voltage of 12V can be guaranteed to
supply power, then remove the battery at this time, Oscar can continue to work
without shutting down or restarting.
Taking the external DC power supply as an example, the detailed steps are as
follows. Connect the DC male plug with two wires (see Figure 1.36) to the DC
power supply (pay attention to the distinction between positive and negative
poles),It is then connected to the Oscar along with a 5-pin serial to DC jack and
DB9 male cable (Fig. 1.35). Press the power button for 2 seconds to power on.
