InstallingtheFrontWheelandCasterFork(continued)
3.Installthelowerbearingconeandanewgreaseseal,theninstalltheupper
bearingcone.
4.Fitthecasterforkintothefrontaxleandinstallthethree(3)bellevillewashers
asshown.
5.Securethecasterforkinthefrontaxlewiththelocknut.Tightenthelocknut
until7to8N·m(65to75in-lb)isrequiredtorotatethecasterforkintheaxle.
6.Installthegreasecapsothelipistightagainsttheaxle,butnotpressed
hardenoughtovisiblyindentthecap.
7.Securethewheelinthecasterforkwiththepreviouslyremovedfasteners.
Tightenthelocknutuntilthewheelnolongerspinsfreely,thenbackitoffjust
untilthewheelspinsfreelyandtheexposedouterspacersaretight.
8.PumpNo.2lithiumgreaseintothewheelhubandcasterforkgreasettings.
9.Checkandadjustthefronttirepressurebeforereturningthemachineto
service;refertoChassisSpecications(page2–4).

1.Removethefrontwheelfromthecasterfork;refertoRemovingtheFront
WheelandCasterFork(page7–6).
2.Removethespacers,sealsandbearingsfromthewheelassembly.Discard
theseals.
3.Cleanandinspectthebearingsandspacersforwearordamageandreplace
asnecessary.
4.Ifpreviouslyremoved,pressnewbearingcupsallthewayintothewheelhub.
5.PackthebearingconeswithNo.2lithiumgrease.
6.Installthebearingconesandnewgreaseseals.
