asecondtesthosetotheexposedttingatthewheelmotor.
7.Installahydraulictestertotheexposedendsofthetesthoses.Makesure
thetesterisinstalledinthecorrectowdirection(towardthewheelmotor)
andthetesterowcontrolvalveisfullyopen.
8.Starttheengineandrunitatlow-idlespeed.Correctanyhydraulicuidleaks
atthetestconnectionsbeforecontinuingthetest.
9.Setthethrottletothefullspeed(3,575to3,725RPM).Verifytheengine
RPMwithanon-contacttachometer.
10.Makesurehydraulicuidisatnormaloperatingtemperaturebyoperatingthe
machineforapproximately5minutes.
CAUTION
Useextremecautionwhenperformingthistest.Therearwheels
willberotatingduringthetest.
11.VerifythepumpowatNoLoadasfollows:
A.Slowlymovethetractioncontrolleverforthesidebeingtestedtothe
fullyFORWARDposition.
B.Unrestrictedpumpoutputshouldbeapproximately54.5L/minute(14.4
gallons/minute).
C.Releasethetractioncontrolleverandrecordthetesterpressureand
owreadings.
12.VerifythepumpowUnderLoadasfollows:
A.Slowlymovethetractionleverforthesidebeingtestedtothefully
FORWARDposition.
B.Applyanadditionalloadof8,274to12,410kPa(1,200to1,800psi)
byslowlyclosingtheowmeter.
C.Releasethetractioncontrolleverandrecordthetesterpressureand
owreadingsunderload.
13.Verifytheforwardtractionreliefvalveoperationasfollows:
A.WiththetractioncontrolleverforthesidebeingtestedintheNEUTRAL
position,fullyclosetheowmeterowcontrolvalve.
B.Slowlymovethetractioncontrolleverforthesidebeingtestedinthe
FORWARDdirection.
C.Thesystempressureshouldreachapproximately20,600kPa(2,990psi)
beforethereliefvalveopens.Recordthetesterpressurereading.
Note:ThereliefvalvesettingiskPa(2,900psi).AnadditionalkPa(90
psi)isnecessarytoovercomesystemchargepressurebeforetherelief
valveopens.
D.Releasethetractioncontrollever,opentheowcontrolvalvefully,move
thethrottletolowspeed,andsetthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition.
14.Ifthereliefpressurecannotbemetorisgreaterthanspecied,thetraction
reliefvalveisdamagedandshouldbereplaced;refertoServicingthePiston
(Traction)Pumps(page5–64).
15.Theunderloadtestowreading(step12)shouldnotdropmorethan12%
whencomparedtothenoloadtestowreading(step11).Adifferenceof
morethan12%(UnderLoad>NoLoadX0.88)mayindicatethetraction
