Problem Possible Causes
Transaxle sticks in gear. Clutch is not releasing fully.
Shift linkage is damaged, loose or out of adjustment.
Shift fork detent ball in transaxle is stuck.
Sliding gears in transaxle are tight on shaft splines.
Synchronizer shift keys in transaxle are damaged.
Transaxle slips out of gear. Shift linkage out of adjustment.
Transaxle gear loose on shaft.
Worn or damaged teeth on transaxle gear.
Excessive end play in transaxle gears.
Lack of spring pressure on shift fork detent ball in
transaxle.
Badly worn bearings in transaxle.
Overheating of transaxle. Oil level too high.
Excessive hydraulic load.
