The“enginerun”outputcircuitfromtheTEC-5002issupplyingtoomuchcurrenttothefuelactuator.The
TEC-5002issensingthattheoutputsignaltothefuelactuatorisabovethemaximum.
Note:ThefuelactuatorisalsoreferredtoastheeGov.
CircuitDescription
ThefuelactuatorandtheTEC-5002controllerworktogethertomaintainenginespeedbyadjustingthefuel
deliverytotheengine.Asensorinthemotor/generatorprovidesasignalforgenerator/enginespeedtothe
TEC-5002throughtheCANbus.Iftheenginespeedchangesbecauseofchangestotheloadontheengineor
becausetheoperatorofthemachinechangesenginespeed,theTEC-5002modiestheelectricaloutputto
thefuelactuator,thentheactuatoradjustsfuelassignaledbytheTEC-5002tomaintainenginespeed.The
TEC-5002monitorstheoperationofthefuelactuator.
Note:Ifaproblemoccurswiththefuelactuatororcircuitwiring,theextensionspringbetweentheactuator
bracketandenginespeedcontrollevermovesthecontrollevertohighidle(3,150rpm)withtheengine
mechanicalgovernorcontrollingenginespeedabovehighidle.
ConditionsforSettingtheFault
TheTEC-5002reportsfault27ifanyofthefollowingconditionsaremet:
•theoutputsignalfromtheTEC-5002tothefuelactuatorisabovethemaximum.
•thesignalcannotreachthefuelactuator(duetodamagedwiring).
•thefuelactuatoriswornordamaged.

1.ClearthesystemfaultsfromtheInfoCenter.RefertoClearingFaultsfromtheInfoCenter(page21).
2.Operatethemachine.
