Chapter 3
Vitals Hardware and
Software
VITALS SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE
Figure 3-1 illustrates the Vitals 3.8.1 hardware and software
architecture.
The Vitals hardware is a handheld control computer that
operates E.H. Wachs valve exercising equipment, and
stores and transfers valve operation data. There are two
controller models:
• TC-100 tablet controller (introduced in 2021). Chapter
5 describes how to use the TC-100.
• HC-100 handheld controller (sold through early 2021).
Chapter 6 describes how to use the HC-100.
The Vitals software has two components:
• Vitals Desktop runs on a Windows-based computer.
Vitals Desktop lets you manage and analyze valve
information and exercising data. Chapter 7 describes
using Vitals Desktop.
• Vitals Mobile runs on the handheld controller. It oper-
ates the valve exercising equipment and logs valve
exercising data.
• The TC-100 tablet controller runs the Vitals
Mobile-TC software.
• The HC-100 handheld controller runs the Vitals
Mobile-HC software.
