3.24 Towing and transporting the machine
Towing
Danger!
Keep out of the danger zone of the machine –
Accident hazard!
Ensure that no one is in the danger zone of the loader.
Ensure that no one is close to the towing equipment (towing bar, cable).
Caution!
The traveling drive can be damaged when towing the machine! Observe the
following points:
Stop the engine!
The machine cannot be steered, turning is not possible
Use towing bracket B for towing the machine.
Use the towing bracket only for towing the machine.
Use a shackle pin with a lock pin.
In order to avoid damage to the hydraulic system of the machine, tow the
machine only up to the transport vehicle (loading area), but no more than a
maximum 10 metres and at a maximum speed of 3 kph.
Caution!
The maximum admissible load of the towing bracket is 6500 daN (65 000 N).
The load capacity of the towing chain (or of the towing cable) must be 1.5
times the weight of the machine.
Tow away the machine as follows:
Stop the engine!
Use the front or rear towing brackets B.
Secure shackle C with the shackle pin and a lock pin
Install a towing bar or cable of adequate size to the towing bore.
