6.1 Sawing Problems
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
Blades Dull Quickly Dirty logs Clean or debark logs, especially on entry
side of the cut.
When grinding teeth, heating too
much and causing teeth to soften
Grind just enough metal to restore
sharpness to the teeth. Use water/coolant
while sharpening blade.
Poor sharpening techniques Make sure the tip is being sharpened
completely (see the Sharpener Manual).
Blades Break Prematurely Poor sharpening techniques See the Sharpener Manual.
Tension too tight Tension blade to recommended
specifications.
Blade Does Not Track Right
on Drive Wheel
Cant adjustment is incorrect Readjust.
Drive Belts Wear Prematurely
or Jump
Engine/motor and drive pulleys
out of alignment
