GENERAL
1. Check:
● Electrolyte level
Below the minimum level mark 1 →
Add distilled water to the proper
level.
● Electrolyte specific gravity
Less than 1.28 → Recharge the bat-
tery.
NOTE:
● Batteries vary among manufacturers.
Consult your battery manufacturer’s
instructions.
● First, disconnect the negative lead, then
the positive lead when removing the bat-
tery from a boat.
Electrolyte specific gravity:
1.28 at 20 ˚C (68 ˚F)
Spark plugs
1. Inspect:
● Electrodes 1
Cracks/excessive wear→ Replace the
spark plug(-s).
● Insulator 2
Damage → Replace the spark plug(-s).
2. Clean:
● Spark plugs
(with a spark plug cleaner or wire
brush)
3. Measure:
● Spark plug gap a
Out of specification → Regap.

1.1 mm (0.043 in)
