1. Check:
• timing chain
Damage/stiffness
→
Replace the timing
chain and camshaft sprocket as a set.
2. Check:
• timing chain guide (intake side)
Damage/wear
→
Replace.

• crankshaft runout

Out of specification

Replace the crank-
shaft, bearing or both.
NOTE:

Turn the crankshaft slowly.
2. Measure:
• big end side clearance

Replace the crank-
shaft.
3. Measure:
• crankshaft width

Replace the crank-
shaft.
Maximum crankshaft runout
0.03 mm (0.0012 in)
Big end side clearance
0.15 ~ 0.45 mm

Crankshaft width
