CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL
8. Connect:
spark plug cap
9. Install:
footboard
front bottom cowling
bottom cowling
front cowling
Refer to INSTALLING THE FRONT
COWLING AND LEG SHIELD.

CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL
1. Stand the motorcycle on a level surface.
NOTE:
_
Place the motorcycle on a suitable stand.
Make sure the motorcycle is upright.
2. Start the engine, warm it up for several min-
utes, and then turn it off.
3. Remove:
dipstick 1
4. Check:
engine oil level
The engine oil level should be between the
minimum level a and maximum level b.
Below the minimum level Add the recom-
mended engine oil to the proper level.
CAUTION:
_
Do not allow foreign materials to enter the
crankcase.
NOTE:
_
Before checking the engine oil level, wait a
few minutes until the oil has settled.
Do not screw the dipstick in when checking
the oil level.
5. Install:
dipstick
Recommended oil
Refer to the chart for the engine
oil grade which is best suited
for certain atmospheric temper-
atures.
