On the bottom of the V-belt case cover is a
check hose

. If dust or water or both collects
in this hose, clean the V-belt air filter elements.

1. Remove:
• V-belt case air filter cover

• V-belt case air filter dust seal 3
• V-belt case air filter element 4

2. Clean:
• V-belt case air filter dust seal
Wipe the V-belt case air filter dust seal
clean with a dry cloth.
3. Clean:
• V-belt case air filter element

a. Wash the element gently, but thoroughly in
solvent.

Use a cleaning solvent which is designed
to clean parts only. Never use gasoline or
low flash point solvents as they may cause
a fire or explosion.
b. Squeeze the excess solvent out of the ele-
ment and let it dry.
