TheZXA10C300usestheactive/standbyswitchovermechanismandPONport
protectionmechanismtoguaranteestableoperationofservices.Whenthebackbone
berconnectionbetweentheZXA10C300andONUisbrokenandtheservicesare
interrupted,thedevicewillautomaticallyswitchtheservicestothestandbyPONportto
restoretheservicesquickly.
TheZXA10C300supportsthefollowingfourtypesofPONprotection:
lTypeA
TypeBisthebackboneberredundancyprotection.Itbacksupthebackboneber
betweenthePONportandsplitter.
lTypeB
TypeBistheOLT-sideredundancyprotection.ItbacksuptheOLTPONportsand
thebackboneberbetweenthePONportandsplitter.ThesplitterOLT-sidehastwo
inputportsandtwooutputports.Thisprotectionmodecanrecovertheserviceonthe
OLTsideonly.
lTypeC
TypeCistheOLT-sideandONU-sideredundancyprotection,ItbacksuptheOLT
PONport,ONU(dualopticalmodules),splitter,andallthebers.Inthismode,the
faultatanypointcanberectiedviatheactive/standbyswitchover.
lTypeD
TypeDistheOLT-sideandONU-sideredundancyprotection,alsoknownasfull
duplexprotection.ItbacksuptheOLTPONport,ONU(dualPONports),splitter,and
allthebers.Inthismode,thefaultatanypointcanberectiedviatheactive/standby
switchover.
