Power Disruptions
When electrical power is restored following a power disruption, the 3M™ Attest™
Mini Auto-reader 490M checks the heater block temperature.
A C1 caution code is displayed under all unoccupied incubation wells if the
temperature is below specification. The C1 caution code will clear when the
temperature reaches specification (60.0ºC +/- 2.0ºC).
For any incubating BIs for which the result was determined prior to the power
disruption, the result is displayed when power is restored provided the BI remains
in the well.
For any incubating BIs for which the result was not determined prior to the power
disruption:
O
If the heater block temperature is within specification, readings resume as
indicated by the remaining incubation time under the BIs on the Display.
O
After short power disruptions, if the heater block temperature is above 50°C,
but not within specification, a C3 caution code is displayed under affected
wells and readings are not taken. Readings resume, as indicated by the
remaining incubation time on the Display, when the temperature reaches
specification.
O
If the heater block temperature is below 50°C, the E5 error code is displayed
below affected BIs. A result will not be determined, and the load/sterilizer
should be tested with a new BI per facility protocol.
