Draining the axis-4 gearbox
Use this procedure to drain the gearbox.

Floor-mounted robot:1
Run the robot to calibration position.

Axis 2:
Axis 3: -180°
Axis 4: no significance
Axis 5: no significance
Axis 6: no significance

DANGER
Turn off all:
electric power supply
hydraulic pressure supply
air pressure supply
to the robot, before entering the safe-
guarded space.

WARNING
Handling gearbox oil involves several
safety risks, see Gearbox lubricants (oil or
grease) on page 29.

CAUTION
The gearbox can contain an excess of
pressure that can be hazardous. Open the
oil plug carefully in order to let the excess
pressure out.

Place the oil collecting vessel underneath
the oil drain plug.
