Port Configuration
Port settings determine how data is received and sent between the switch and
the attached device.
In the navigation pane, click Port Configuration.

Field Description
Unit
(Stratix 8000/8300 switches)
Indicates where the port resides:
Base (for example, 1783-MS10T).
Expansion module (for example, 1783-MX08T).
Port The port that is selected for configuration. The port number includes the port type (Fa for Fast Ethernet, Gi for Gigabit Ethernet, or Te for Ten
Gigabit Ethernet) and the specific port number.
EXAMPLE: Gi1/1 is Gigabit Ethernet port 1.
Enable To enable the port, check the checkbox.
To disable the port manually, clear the checkbox.
If the port is not in use and is not attached to a device, we recommend that you disable the port. You can troubleshoot a suspected unauthorized
connection by manually disabling the port.
