13 Output/Zone Configuration
To Configure the Output Parameters:
1. Select the output to be programmed.
Menu: ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆOutputsÆO/P #<n>
2. Program output name to reflect the actual use of the output, e.g. zone number or description, as
required. It is for reference only, and it is shown in output related menu options.
Menu: ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆOutputsÆO/P #<n>ÆName
L
A non-blank name should be assigned to the output. The system uses the output name
as the only identifier in some functions, so having a blank name can make the
identification difficult.
The most useful scheme is probably to have both the zone number and a code for its
description in the zone name. As there are only twelve characters available then some
thought may be needed to come up with a good scheme, e.g. ‘Z1 T.OFFICE’, ‘Z212
PLAT1, ‘Z23 ARENA’, ‘Z7 LIFT’, etc.
3. Define the gain to be applied to the output.
Menu: ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆOutputsÆO/P #<n>ÆLevel
L
Once all the inputs have been balanced in order to give the same volume as each
other, by adjusting the input gain, each output can be set to give the correct sound
pressure level in the output zone, by means of its output gain.
Any output level adjustment should be performed with the ANS function for that output
disabled, as described in Section ”18.2 Output Configuration for ANS Monitoring”.
4. Enable or disable the 8-band equaliser for the output.
Menu: ConfigurationÆSystemÆRouterÆOutputsÆO/P #<n>ÆEQ
If equalisation is enabled, define the relative gain for each frequency band (125Hz, 250Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz,
2kHz, 4kHz, 8kHz, 16kHz) of the 8-band equaliser.
Equalisation of each output may be useful to obtain the best possible audio performance, given the
specific loudspeaker installation surface finishes, and shape of the zone.
