Fan Guard Removal

1. Remove the capscrews that secure the fan
guard to the fan guard mounts.
2. Remove the fan guard from the engine com-
partment.
Fan Guard Installation
1. Position the fan guard over the fan and against
the fan shroud.

2. Install the capscrews that secure the fan guard
to the fan guard mounts.

The tools required for fan and fan shroud removal
and installation are listed in Table 7-2. Use manufac-
turer-recommended tools whenever possible.

Hot oil can cause personal injury. Make sure the oil is
cool before removing any components or lines.

1. Remove the upper hose from the oil cooler sec-
tion. Cap the hose and fitting.
2. Remove the fan guard. Refer to Chapter 7. Fan
Guard Removal.
